You could charge a small entrance fee to make it a fundraiser; hold a question and answer period to share ideas and reactions to the film; create a quiz about the film to test viewers’ water knowledge; use the film to complement an existing hands-on project… The possibilities are endless!

 

FLOW

This award-winning documentary investigates the world water crisis, focusing on the privatization of water, politics, pollution, human rights, and the emergence of a world water cartel. The film identifies the problem as well as the people and institutions providing practical solutions.

This documentary follows Jalsindhi villagers in India through hunger strikes, rallies, police brutality and a six-year Supreme Court case as they oppose the building of the Narmada Dam.

 

Reclaiming Water

The Third World Water Forum was held in 2003 in Kyoto, Japan. Grassroots activists attended for the first time, determined to present alternatives. The film presents their story, interweaving personal stories, strategy sessions, and analysis.

This documentary explores the challenges facing the Navajo Nation in the USA, a population of 70,000 without access to running water.

 

A New Culture of Water

This film follows numerous worldwide examples of people fighting for their basic right to water, from court cases to violent revolutions to U.N. conventions to revised constitutions to local protests at grade schools.

Now playing in IMAX theatres across North America, Mysteries of the Great Lakes is as much a celebration of Earth’s greatest freshwater ecosystem as it is a rallying cry for protection.  There are also educators’ guides that accompany the film that are designed to teach students why the Great Lakes are a unique and precious resource.
