Our Partners
The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada is fortunate to have the support of a number of key partners that provide us with the resources that allow us to run our programs, to empower young Canadians to make their communities better places to live, and to raise awareness among Canadians of the urgent need to protect habitat for chimpanzees and other wild species in Africa.
JGI Canada is involved in a partnership with the University of Toronto's Centre for Environment that sees our national office located at the University. The partnership involves collaborations on teaching and research, sharing of information on JGI's conservation programs in Africa, and opportunities for U of T students to contribute to JGI’s programs around the world.

The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) is supporting JGI Canada’s largest community-centred conservation program to date. With this support we are conducting a three-year project in western Uganda, in collaboration with JGI Uganda and Heifer Project International, called the Sustainable Livelihoods Project. This project is working with 700 households in seven villages of the Hoima District, to restore regional forests and waterways, improve livelihoods, and promote environmental education and engagement
