About Chimpanzees

Chimpanzees are our closest relatives, sharing 98.6% of their genes with us. Our genetic closeness can account for many of our similarities, such as physical likeness and even some of our behaviours. Upon closer observation however, we can see that chimpanzees are so like us in many other fascinating ways!

Browse these pages to learn the types of tools chimpanzees create and use, the intricate social dynamics between individuals in a community, and how chimpanzees even eat medicinal plants just like humans!
