Attend the UN Climate Change Meeting in Cancun
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, June 11, 2010 at 6:00pm
Applications are now open for the Canadian Youth Delegation to the United Nations Climate Change Meetings in Cancun, Mexico, taking place at the end of 2010. If you want to make a difference, learn about international climate policy, have a great time, build your capacity, work with a diverse group of youth from every province and territory in Canada, and support the international youth climate movement, then this opportunity is for you. Help make Parks Canada more Friendly
Become a member of Canadian Parks Council Youth Advisory Panel
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, June 14, 2010 at 5:00pm
The Canadian Parks Council is looking for a diverse group of youth from across Canada to join the Youth Advisory Panel. They are seeking youth with any level of experience with parks (including no experience) who are prepared to be active participants in dialogues about parks and youth programs.

Start date: Mid-June 2010; End Date: Mid-September 2010
Commitment: 2 - 1 hour conference calls plus 1 to 2 hours each week to participate in various activities.
Compensation: Win prizes for participation, and gain hands on experience at a parks program near you.

Me to We Leadership Camp
Me to We's Take Action academies are week-long, social justice-themed summer camps, designed to give young people the leadership skills, confidence and peer support to improve not only themselves, but their world. Varying in age from 9 to 21, our participants come from across the globe, and spend their academy week learning leadership skills, exploring pressing global issues, volunteering in the local community and taking their place within a worldwide social movement of globally-conscious young people. FUN Camp
FUN Camp is an environmental leadership summer day camp for 6-16 year olds in Vancouver and 6-12 years old in Victoria BC, run by the Friends Uniting for Nature (FUN) Society. The camps run Monday-Friday, July 5th to Aug 27th from 9am-4pm at UBC in Vancouver and Windsor Park Pavilion in Victoria. Each week has new themes, and new activities including: building mini solar powered cars and racing them, baking brownies in solar ovens, creating a mini eco-city using recycled materials, planning social/environmental change projects, and bike maintenance workshops. |
